Lewisville Grand Theater invites artists to submit artwork for Eye Candy!, an exhibition celebrating vibrant color, playful imagery, nostalgia, and visual indulgence. The exhibition will showcase work from DFW-based artists who explore the many meanings and associations of “sweet” through their creative practices. Inspired by candy, treats, childhood memories, bold color, and the unexpected, the works on display are meant to invite viewers to indulge their senses and experience art as a feast for the eyes.

Audience: City of Lewisville residents, attendees of the Lewisville Grand Theater and open to the public during regular business hours.

Location: The Lewisville Grand Theater Education Hallway Gallery

Eligibility: Open to all fine art and fine craft artists who live in the DFW area. Submissions will be chosen for the exhibition considering quality of work, adherence to theme and gallery space. Please submit up to three artworks or items for consideration. Art in all media will be considered (except for AI generated work). As the gallery is in an open hallway, installation works are not suitable. We encourage artists of all levels to apply.

• Two-dimensional artworks size limit: All sizes of work will be considered. All two-dimensional works must be framed and have wire installed on their backs at the time of intake for hanging purposes. No sawtooth hangers allowed. Gallery wrapped canvases with a minimum depth of .75 inches do not require a frame.
• Three-dimensional art size limit: All sizes of work will be considered. Must be fully stable to stand alone or attached to a stable base. A limited number of pedestals are available from the gallery’s inventory for display, please request a pedestal in the comments section of your submission form.
• Works can be for sale, but it is not a requirement.
• Work must not have been displayed at Lewisville Grand Theater within the last two years.
• Residency in Lewisville is not required.
• You must be able to drop off and pick up your art in person as we cannot accept shipped work.
• Artists do not need to be affiliated with an art group to participate in this exhibition.
• Entries must be the complete work of the submitting artist.
• Kits or commercially designed works will not be accepted.

Acceptance Notification: Will be sent by email by Friday, Sept. 18. An exhibition agreement including 10% commission on any sales obligation (Payable to the City of Lewisville) will be required for each artist selected to participate.

Intake: Sept. 29, 2026 from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m.

ALL WORKS MUST HAVE A WIRE TO HANG FROM THE HANGING SYSTEM IN THE GALLERY- NO SAWTOOTH HANGERS OR SMALL “FACTORY HANGERS.”

Installation: Sept. 30 – Oct. 2, to be done by Lewisville Grand Theater Staff

Pick-Up: Nov. 10, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Sales Expectations: All artists are expected to handle their artwork sales directly. Confirmation of a sale should be shared with Arts Center staff and staff will mark a work sold on the label accordingly. (10% commission due back to Arts Center AFTER exhibition sales have all concluded.)

It is preferred that a pay-app link or handle (Venmo, Cashapp, Zelle or Paypal) be provided for inclusion on the art label, so that sales can be confirmed quickly and easily by all parties (the buyer, artist and Arts Center staff). Arts Center staff cannot take, hold or route any payments for the sale of artwork.

Sold work must remain in the gallery on display for the duration of the exhibition.

Gallery Commission: The Lewisville Grand Theater will collect a 10% gallery commission on all sales. This can be paid to the gallery via credit card, cash or check, and can be paid at the end of the exhibition. A sales settlement report will be provided to all artists.

Event promotion: Will include social media postings, Art Center website and newsletter features, and press releases/event listings in local newspapers.

Deadline for Application: Ongoing

The Lewisville Grand Theater has several spaces of varying size for displaying artwork. The Lewisville Grand Theater keeps a continuing artist call open for artists to submit possible exhibition ideas to utilize these spaces. Solo exhibition applications are welcome. These spaces include:

• The main gallery is a large room with about 300' of liner wall space with two moving walls to change the room dynamics.
• The Education Wing Gallery is located off our main lobby area by our classrooms and includes approximately 70' of linear wall space. Artwork is displayed using a gallery hanging rod system.
• The Administrative Hallway can accommodate smaller shows, with 8-12 hanging works, using the gallery hanging rod system.
• The South Lobby Display Case offers the opportunity for small 3-D works to be displayed in a locking case. 2-D works can also be displayed in this space via shelf easels or in free standing frames. Height, weight, and depth limitations on works of art apply to this exhibition space.

The number of available exhibitions per space varies each year, as does each exhibition run-time. The main gallery has the most limited availability of exhibition options.

Parties wishing to exhibit artworks at the Lewisville Grand Theater (all media including sculptural) should fill out the application form. Submission does not guarantee acceptance. All submissions will be reviewed by the arts center manager and/or designated committee. The artist will receive an invitation letter if the work meets the criteria established for the visual arts season at the Lewisville Grand Theater. Submissions without images being submitted or images without a corresponding submission form will not be considered.
