Free VAL Workshop: Painting with a Limited Palette

The Visual Art League of Lewisville presents a free workshop featuring artist Karla Brady, Saturday, Oct. 25, 10 a.m. – Noon.
Karla Brady is a contemporary representational painter working in oils and watercolor. As a self-described "color nerd”, she uses a limited palette and loves to share what she has learned.
Objectives:
- Experiment mixing colors
- Create and utilize color wheel
- Make a small painting
At this workshop, you will create your very own acrylic painting utilizing a limited palette of red, yellow, and blue. You will learn to mix colors and understand how to create secondary and tertiary colors as well as neutral shades. You will use a color wheel and explore limited palette options.
- All necessary materials are provided
- You may bring your favorite materials such as brushes, paints (watercolor, acrylic, gouache, etc.) canvas
- Bring an apron or wear your painting clothes

The Grand is Lewisville's home for the arts. To reach The Grand from Interstate 35E, take the Main Street exit and proceed east on Main Street to Charles Street. The Grand will be on the left. Free public parking is available along Main and Church streets, or at Lewisville City Hall across Church Street from the center. Please be aware that there is heavy road construction at the Main Street interchange with I-35E that will cause delays.
